Lounge Care
Like any furniture product, your new lounge will require care to ensure it remains comfortable and looking beautiful for years to come. Over the first few months of use, you may notice the polyurethane seat foam start to soften – this is normal and should eventually stabilise. Every lounge will wear differently, depending on its intended use. See below information on how to care generally for your lounge: DO’s Ensure to rotate/reverse/flip any seating cushions (if applicable) to ensure even wear of the cushions. If this is not done, the foam will likely pool or drop sooner than intended and result in reduced comfort. Use fabric or leather protection to ensure any spills are easier to clean Use appropriate cleaning products to keep your lounge looking fresh and tidy DON’Ts Avoid placing your lounge in direct sunlight as this will cause fabrics or leathers to wear & fade Do not machine wash your covers at home. Always use a professional cleaning service Do not pull loose threads – always cut them Do not allow pets or sharp objects near your lounge Do not sit or rest on the arms of a chair or lounge – they are not designed to support excessive weight

Leather is a natural material, known for its beauty and overall durability. Properly maintained leather should last longer than most other materials. There are several products available in store to help with maintenance, including leather protection and extended warranties. Follow the below care instructions to ensure your leather products maintain their integrity for years to come: OUTDOOR FURNITURE CARE Our range of outdoor furniture is designed with both comfort and durability in mind. To get the most from your outdoor products, it is important to follow the relevant care and maintenance instructions: CUSHIONS: Cushions / fabric exposed directly to UV rays are likely to deteriorate faster, causing rapid fading and weakening of product. It is recommended outdoor products are not permanently left out and exposed to the elements, to ensure maximum longevity Cushions / fabric exposed to rain/water without the opportunity to dry out will likely deteriorate and develop mould and mildew. Ensure damp cushions are air-dried out regularly, and removed from heavy rain where necessary TIMBER: Our outdoor timber is very durable, but there is no escaping deterioration when consistently exposed to the extreme Australian sun. To ensure maximum longevity, remove outdoor furniture from direct sunlight when not in use Timber needs regular oiling to ensure it does not dry out and crack. To polish the timber, apply a fine, light, silicone-free furniture oil and polish in the direction of the grain. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the label. Never use a furniture polish containing silicone. Check the label! (A well-known general-purpose pressure-pack spray advertises its suitability for furniture use, but the silicone content will quickly destroy the lacquer) Timber in humid areas is more likely to develop mould and mildew. Regular cleaning/wiping of timber is recommended. Waxing your timber can also help protect against mould and mildew Teak timbers left untreated outdoors will silver (discolour) over time as part of the natural weathering process. PATIO FURNITURE CARE Never place product where they can be exposed to the elements. This includes rain, hail, sun, tree & plant sap, and animal droppings As the product is subject to changing temperatures, it is common for timber to expand and contract. Over time, this can cause minor cracks or distortion. This is not a fault. Ensure pets are kept away, as it is common for accidental damage to occur (especially with fabrics and rattan/wicker) Our warranty on Patio furniture is limited to manufacturer faults and does not cover any wear & tear or damage that could have been caused by: Exposure to sun or light Exposure to rain, hail, or other weather events Exposure to other natural substances (tree sap, pollen, animal droppings) Exposure to other chemical substances used in outdoor gardens or patios Damage caused by pets or other wild animals RATTAN / WICKER CARE Rattan is a natural product and is extremely durable but is not completely resistant to the elements. Rattan can become brittle and become damaged when exposed to direct sunlight or excessive moisture. For our full outdoor ranges, we use a resin wicker, which will typically last much longer outdoors than any similar natural products (e.g., rattan or cane). While this synthetic material is very durable, adequate care is still required. Furniture should be dusted or vacuumed with an upholstery brush weekly, to avoid this dirt and dust piling up in nooks and crannies present within the weave. Food, drink, animal droppings or any foreign substance should be cleaned immediately. At least every 6 months, furniture should be inspected for mould and mildew growth, and for splits in the fibres, especially if being kept outdoors. Take sufficient time to clean away any problems and to recondition the fibres

Our quality timber products are designed and constructed to ensure they last the distance. Solid timber products have stood the test of time for the best all-round reliability of any furniture. Just like our skin, timber requires care to remain healthy, and to avoid drying out (and cracking), To retain the look and character of your new timber furniture, please adhere to the below product care tips: Variation: As timber is a natural product, it is subject to natural and expected variation from piece to piece. We try our best to capture the exact nature and tone of the timbers in our product photos, however we cannot guarantee an exact match. Some products may come darker or lighter, within reason and tolerance. Outdoor use: While timber is extremely durable, unfortunately most timber does not fare well when exposed to the elements. Leaving your timber furniture outdoors, even if undercover, will void your warranty. Eureka Street offer a range of furniture available for use on undercover patios. For more information, please speak with staff. Timber must be polished and/or waxed to stay healthy. To polish the timber, apply a fine, light, silicone-free furniture oil and polish in the direction of the grain. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the label. Never use a furniture polish containing silicone. Check the label! (A well-known general-purpose pressure-pack spray advertises its suitability for furniture use, but the silicone content will quickly destroy the lacquer). Avoid leaving wet cloths, glasses etc on lacquered surfaces, these will breakdown the lacquer. Furniture wax is especially helpful for recycled timber furniture and should be applied every 3 to 6 months. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the tin. Any spills should be immediately removed with a slightly damp cloth to prevent damage to the coating. Beware of porous objects like pottery vases standing for long periods on tables; water can seep through to the table and sit there unnoticed. Timber surfaces and coatings are not heat proof. Use heat-resistant coasters and place mats. Some hand-thrown ceramic mugs have a base like sandpaper. Place a coaster under these items. Timber surfaces are light sensitive. Do not place in direct sunlight or leave coasters or decorative items in place for weeks at a time. Open extension tables periodically so the leaf gets a regular amount of light. Timber products are sensitive to humidity. Take care not to place directly under heating air-conditioning ducts, or near open fires. Timber is rich with natural oils and, in some rare cases, can mark flooring. If in doubt place a plastic barrier between the timber and the floor covering.

Learn moreCandle Safety
Candle fires account for 2.4% of all fires and result in 6% of total injuries from fires and 3% of all fatalities from fires. The National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) reports candle fire incidents occur most often in the bedroom (45.2%), then in the family room (17.5%) and the bathroom (11.2%). The kitchen accounts for 6.3% of candle fire incidents. NFIRS alsoreports that the materials most often ignited by candles are cabinetry (9.4%); bedding (blankets, sheets, comforters, etc.) (7.7%); curtains and drapery (7.2%); mattresses & pillows (5.5%).85 percent of candle fires could be avoided if consumers followed three basic safety rules. Before Lighting Trim the wick to ¼ inch each time before burning. Long or crooked wicks can cause uneven burning, dripping, or flaring. Burn candles in a well-ventilated room. Place the candleholder on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Keep the wax pool clear of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times. Avoid drafts, vents, or air currents. This will help prevent rapid or uneven burning, and sooting. Follow recommended burn times. This will ensure excessive heat buildup. While Burning Never touch or move a burning candle. Never move a votive or container candle when the wax is liquefied. Do not burn a candle all the way down. For a margin of safety, discontinue burning a candle when 10% of the wax is left. Extinguish a candle if the flame becomes too high or flickers repeatedly. Let the candle cool, trim the wick, and check for unwanted drafts before relighting. Always keep the candle within your sight. If you are going to leave the room, be sure to first blowout all candles. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Never burn a candle on or near anything that might catch fire. Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets When Extinguishing Use a candle snuffer to extinguish a candle. It is the safest way to prevent hot wax from splattering. Never use water to extinguish a candle. Water can cause the hot wax to splatter and might break a glass container. Make sure the candle is completely snuffed and the wick ember is no longer glowing before leaving the room. Do not touch or move the candle until it has completely cooled.

Learn moreMarble Care Guide
As marble is a natural product, each piece is unique. No two slabs of stone will ever be the same. It is this uniqueness that makes the product beautiful. While marble is extremely durable, it still requires adequate care. Follow the below instructions to ensure you get the most from your new marble furniture: Only use approved natural stone cleaning product. Marble should be sealed every few years. All marble is fragile and extreme care should be taken when the marble is moved. Marble is a natural, porous product and is therefore susceptible to staining. Any liquids (including water) that are left on the marble will be absorbed into the stone and leave a stain. Any spills (including food) should be cleaned straight away. Always use coasters and placemats to avoid leaving stains and ring marks. If marble becomes stained, contact a professional marble restoration and refinishing service. Do not chop food directly onto marble as it will scratch the surface. Likewise, do not drag objects across the surface. To clean marble, use a clean, soft cloth for best results. Only use approved natural stone cleaning product. We recommend that customers use Guardsman or other approved products to seal and protect marble. Marble should be sealed every few years. Note: that sealing the marble will only provide a buffer of protection. It will not provide absolute protection and even sealed stone will stain if liquids are left on their surface for too long. Do out use abrasive cleaning tools or products Do not use regular household cleaning products as they may contain silicon, lemon, vinegar, or other acids
Learn moreLeather Care
Leather is a natural material, known for its beauty and overall durability. Properly maintained leather should last longer than most other materials. There are several products available in store to help with maintenance, including leather protection and extended warranties. Follow the below care instructions to ensure your leather products maintain their integrity for years to come: Wipe over leather regularly with a damp, soft cloth. Clean the leather regularly by dusting and vacuuming, ensuring all gaps between cushions are dirt free. Dirt can scratch the surface of the material Condition the leather regularly (every 3-4 months) with a leather conditioning product. Pay special attention to areas typically exposed to bare skin, hair, or clothing Keep leather away from heat sources and direct sunlight, as this can cause damage over time Do not use any household cleaners. This can damage the finish on the leather. Only use genuine leather cleaning products In the event of a spill, clean straight away. Carefully soak up the spillage by gently ‘blotting’ with a clean, dry, absorbent cloth. If it stains, consult a professional upholstery cleaning company Keep any sharp or abrasive objects away from the leather (this includes pets!) IMPORTANT NOTE: leather can be damaged by several chemicals and fluids, some of which are not directly applied to the leather and might not be immediately obvious. Examples include: Hairspray and other hair products Deodorants and perfumes Moisturisers and other skin care products Human bodily fluids INCLUDING perspiration; especially if user is taking certain medication (i.e., heart medication). Generally, these issues will arise in certain expected areas. Avoid these issues by regularly cleaning and conditioning your lounge, and/or using throws/blankets to cover areas where the most exposure occurs (arm rests, head rests, seat cushions). Any damage to leather that appears to have been caused by these chemicals/fluids is not covered under warranty.
